The Huai Xuan school during the 18th and 19th centuries was a dominant school is Sichuan with thousands of noted scholars flocking it from all across China. Started by Liu Yuan, a great Qing dynasty scholar and practitioner, its main tenant was to extract from different philosophies and religions a kernel of truth and apply it to heart healing. Liu Yuan would say there is no difference between a sage in the West or in the East, when they get to the truth it is the same truth. In the clinical process of helping patients heal their hearts, the first step is for the practitioner to self-cultivate, covered in course part 1. In this part 2 course the student will learn Huai Xuan methods of working and reaching to the heart of another person. In Huai Xuan this is called cultivate the self in order to help another person cultivate. How to bridge between hearts and become a heart mentor, a practitioner instilling center in another is the focus of this course. There are 10 group classes, plus 3 private mentoring sessions for each student.
About the transmission in Huai Xuan 2-part course.
Liu Yuan, 18th-19th century Huai Xuan founder, had thousands of disciples, amongst which 4 were known to be the best ones. From the 4 Li Songshan 李松山 was considered the number one. Li Songshan likewise had thousands of disciples, amongst which the most outstanding was Li Dianhou 李甸侯 who followed his teacher for 40 years in northern Sichuan. After Li Dianhou’s passing hundreds of Dianhou’s disciples collected and arranged his teachings into a compilation titled Huai Yin Shi Yu Collected Sayings from the Locust Tree Shade. Huai Yin was the northern Sichuanese branch nickname. Huai Xuan 槐轩 means the Locust Tree Canopy, whereas Huai Yin 槐荫 is the shade of that canopy. In Huai Xuan Basics course part 1 we will extract ideas from scroll I, and in Huai Xuan Masters course part 2 we will cover scroll II. For the first time outside of China, this private text and its teachings are transmitted in the 2 courses. In a 100 years transmission from Liu Yuan to Li Songshan to Li Dianhou amazing information was revealed highly relevant to our times.
