12 WEEKLY CLASSES

$250.00 White Pine Circle Members (this is a members only course)

This is a twelve week class on how to recite the Shang Han Lun in Chinese. We will spend one hour reciting the text as a group, and 30 minutes discussing basic character recognition, pronunciation, and grammar, with a focus on some of the common symptom patterns described in the text. Weekly study materials for the class will include 30 to 40 lines of the text per week that have been translated and formatted for reciting, grammar and character notes for that section of the text, and a recording of a native Chinese language teacher reciting the same section of text.

The goal of this class is to develop familiarity and confidence reciting the Shang Han Lun in Chinese, so students can continue the practice on their own or in small groups.

No previous experience in speaking or studying Chinese is necessary. The class will be divided into two groups of five students each, with one group meeting on Mondays at 1pm EST, and a second group meeting Fridays at 1pm EST.
